When this year's floods hit Assam, a group of Littlebox employees decided not to wait. Rituparna Sharma, along with colleagues and friends from Sivasagar, organised a volunteer relief trip to remote flood-affected villages — carrying basic food supplies, drinking water, and personal hygiene items to families cut off from regular aid.
Employees and partners at Littlebox came together to fund that first trip. It reached families in some of the hardest-to-access areas — but it also made clear how much more is needed, not just for immediate relief, but to help villages rebuild what the floods take away year after year.
The Situation
Assam's flood season regularly displaces families across multiple districts, damaging homes, destroying standing crops, and forcing schools to shut or relocate. Remote villages — often far from highways and relief infrastructure — are usually the last to receive help and the first to lose access to food, clean water, and medical supplies.
What We're Raising For
Food rations, drinking water, hygiene kits, and emergency supplies delivered directly to remote villages by our volunteer teams — the same model as our first trip, scaled up.
As waters recede, funds will go toward rebuilding damaged houses and school structures in the villages we've worked with, so families have a place to return to and children don't lose a school year.
We'll share periodic updates — photos, village names, and how funds were used — so every donor can see the impact of their contribution.

Who is organising this?
This is an employee and partner-led relief drive by Littlebox India, coordinated on the ground in Sivasagar and Guwahati by Rituparna Sharma and volunteer teams.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Not currently. This is an informal, employee-driven relief effort and is not routed through a registered 80G trust, so we aren't able to issue tax-exemption receipts at this time.
How will funds be used?
Funds go first toward immediate relief supplies (food, water, hygiene items) for remote villages, and — as more is raised — toward rebuilding damaged homes and school buildings. We'll post updates on how funds are spent.
